The Way of Salvation

Today we look at the story of the crossing of the Red Sea. In Exodus 14, the Israelites were in a dire situation with the Red Sea in front of them and the Egyptian army behind them. They cried out to God in fear, but Moses reminded them to trust in God's power and deliverance. They did not deserve to be saved from their predicament. They had repeatedly disobeyed God and grumbled against Moses. Yet God chose to save them out of his mercy and love.

The Israelites' deliverance from slavery was a foreshadowing of the greater salvation that God would provide through Jesus Christ.
