Calvary Burlington is a place where people of all ages and backgrounds meet for worship, teaching, and to grow in our faith. Our hope is that you would find a place where people can see and experience the love of Jesus. That Calvary would be a church where people can be engaged in community, be evangelized through solid biblical teaching, respond to the Gospel and be established in the faith, and then be equipped to help others take a step to the right toward spiritual maturity. It's our prayer that in everything we do, we are living out our calling to be disciples who make disciples.

WANT TO KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING AT CALVARY BURLINGTON?
news for this Sunday
Each week in December, we’re travelling backward through the life of Jesus to uncover how every moment points to the ultimate gift of his birth. Join us for this fresh, upside-down journey to rediscover the hope, grace, and purpose of the season!
December 15: Serve (Matthew 20:20-28)
Who would expect a King to stoop so low? In this week’s message, we rewind to a conversation where Jesus redefines greatness—not through power or position but through serving others. From washing feet to giving his life, Jesus lived an upside-down life of service. What does this mean for how we live? Discover how his example reshapes the meaning of Christmas.
December 22: Surrender (Luke 2:41-52)
Imagine the Creator of the universe sitting in the temple, humbly learning and listening. In this glimpse of Jesus’ early life, we see a boy already surrendered to the Father’s will. But what does surrender mean for us? As we rewind through Jesus’ story, this week’s message shows how even as a child, Jesus’ purpose pointed to the ultimate hope and wonder of Christmas.
Kids of all ages will start their morning downstairs for KidsChurch. Someone will be at the check-in kiosk to help your kids get checked into the correct classroom!

Soundboard Fundraiser: Investing in our worship
For more than 20 years, our soundboard has faithfully served our church, ensuring that every voice, instrument, and song is heard clearly in worship. But with time and growing needs, it has become apparent that it can no longer keep up. Many of its channels no longer work reliably, and the technology isn’t built for the demands of today—especially when it comes to livestreaming and sharing our services online.
That’s why we’re launching a fall fundraiser to raise $50,000 for a new soundboard and to refresh the media centre. This is about more than just upgrading equipment—it’s about expanding our reach and creating a space where anyone, anywhere, can encounter Jesus through worship.
We are asking for your support in giving over and above your regular offerings to help us raise the needed funds. Whether it’s $10 or $1000, your generosity will make a significant impact. Please consider prayerfully how you can contribute to this crucial need, and give today.

Ministry Posting: Director of worship
Our Worship Director Jolene Sanders has tendered her resignation as of the end of December 2024. Because of her increased responsibilities in her full-time position with WEC, she is unable to devote the time needed to serve as ministry staff. She will continue to be a part of the church and worship team, and we'll be praying for her as she continues to settle into her new role. We are hiring for the part-time position of Worship Director. The job listing can be found by clicking here.
Ready...S.e.t...Go!
Looking for a way to serve God and connect with others in the church family? Join the Special Events Team ("SET") at Calvary! You'll volunteer to work in a variety of ways and use your gifts collectively and in community to serve.
This is a hands-on ministry that uses people who want to be actively involved. SET members might do light maintenance projects, plant flowers, run games for kids’ events, bake or cook, help with event set-up or take-down… the possibilities are plentiful!
If you’d like to get involved, sign up and we’ll be in touch.

Become a church member
Church membership is an important part of growing as a believer. While anyone is welcome to attend a service and get involved in many capacities, church membership is a formal commitment to belong to the church and to grow in community as you worship and serve together.
