The Gift of a Home in Heaven

DA Carson writes, “Though most often read at funerals, these familiar words prepare us for a life long before we face death. Present relationship, comfort, and security with Jesus is being stressed more so than our future place of residence.”

So how do we remain thankful today for this gift of a home in heaven in light of this?

We remember that while we are to long for heaven, we are not to put everything on hold while we wait for it to arrive. These verses remind us that heaven is something to anticipate after a life lived on this earth, yet the goal is to live in right relationship with God today.

Let these verse serve to give you a hope-filled eagerness for the work you can do today in preparation of the home in heaven you can one day enjoy.
