The Gift of Righteousness

There’s an old saying that goes, “Righteousness is a gift, not a reward.” This means that at the moment you received Christ, He bestowed upon you the gift of His righteousness.

You can now come before God with nothing separating you and Him. Not because you have done anything righteous or good, but because of Jesus dying your death and taking your sin, He has given to you the gift of His righteousness. No matter who you are and what you have done, placing your faith in Jesus Christ means you have received the gift of righteousness!
