The Gift of Encouragement
If you’re like most people, the day-to-day rhythms of life can lull you into a bit of a stupor. Wake up, work, eat, sleep. Lather, rinse, repeat. This verse reminds us that we have been given the gift of encouragement, unending help and confidence. It’s like Paul knew that our passions would wane and we would be tempted to sleepwalk through life. Instead, Paul reminds the Thessalonians that they have a hope and a future. Jesus himself and God our Father will renew us with a fresh enthusiasm for the work ahead of them.
When you’re tempted to fall into the pits of despair, remind yourself of this great gift of encouragement that we have been given.
