CB Kids July 10–16

This month our CB Kids are learning all about the big dreams God has given us and helps us to achieve.
This week we learned a story that might be familiar to many: Elisha and the widow's oil. What does this story teach us about faith? Let's find out together!

Ask your child: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be? What would you do when you arrived there?

Have some fun: Look up some famous places in Canada on Google Maps such as:How long would it take you to walk there? Ride your bike? Take a bus? Take a plane? Which mode of transportation would your child(ren) prefer?

Read these passages from the Bible:
  • II Kings 4:1-7
  • Colossians 1:3-14

Talk about it:
  • Why was the woman in the Bible story sad?
  • What did Elisha tell her to do?
  • How did God provide for her?
  • Read Colossians 1:13-14. What has God done for us that shows we can have faith?

Pray together: God, thank you for reminding us that we can have faith in you. Even though we cannot see you, we know you are always there for us and we can trust you to take care of us. Help us to grow our faith and share it with others, too. Amen.

Learn the memory verse: “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” Colossians 3:2 (NIV)  Click here for the ASL video for this Bible verse.

Recap:
Just like airplanes can help us soar to greater heights than we could on our own, when we have faith in God, God helps us do more than we could ever with our own strength.
