CB Kids May 22–28

This month is all about the people who delivered the message about Jesus to the world. This week in the Messengers series, our CB Kids learned that God's message goes everywhere!

Ask your child:
  • What kinds of things can someone get delivered to their home?
  • What kind of a delivery person would you like to be? Why?
  • If you could have one thing delivered to you today, what would it be?

Have some fun:
Play 'delivery' with your child(ren). Help them create a simple menu containing items from your kitchen. Let them order off the menu for a breakfast, lunch, or dinner - whatever their little hearts desire (as long as it's on the menu!). Deliver it to them in 'take-out' containers and let them eat it on a blanket on the ground or at a small table like they're in a cafe.

Read these passages from the Bible:
  • Acts 16:9-15
  • Matthew 28:18-20

Talk about it:
  • What are some of the cities Paul went to in today’s story?
  • What was the name of the woman Paul met in Macedonia?
  • What happened after Paul told her about Jesus?

We've been given a call
Been forgiven, risen, we livin' to give him our all
Rise up from your past
It's holding you down
This moment is all that matters
The future is now (Lecrae)

Pray together:
God, thank you for sending your love everywhere. Show us how we can share the message of Jesus no matter where we are. We know you want everyone to know you like we do! Amen.

Learn the memory verse:
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And
I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” Isaiah 6:8

Recap:
Paul travelled many places and he shared the good news of Jesus with a lot of people, and one of them was Lydia. Lydia and her household heard the gospel, repented and were baptised. Through Paul's message and Lydia's obedience, many people were saved.

We don't have to be grown-ups or a pastor in order to talk about Jesus. We are all messengers when we carry the hope of Jesus to everyone we meet!
