CB Kids April 17–23

This week, CB Kids remember the time when Jesus came back to life.

Ask your child: "What was something you loved about Easter this year? Do you have a favourite memory?" Next, tell your child a story that happened on Easter when you were a child, or a favourite memory.

Have some fun: Even though Easter weekend is now passed, it's important for your kids to know that the cross and the empty tomb are significant all throughout the year! Use cookie, bread or pizza dough to form the shape of a cross. Decorate and bake.

Read these passages: Luke 24:1-12; Romans 6:8-11

Talk about it:
  • The cross is a symbol of something sad that happened, but it is also a symbol of hope.
  • When Jesus was crucified and buried in the tomb, his friends were very sad.
  • What happened three days later when Mary and Mary went to the tomb?
  • Why is Easter Sunday called "Resurrection Sunday", and why do we celebrate this day?

Pray together: Dear God, thank you so much for sending Jesus for us. We are so grateful we can call you our friend.  Help us to remember every day how much you love us. Amen

Learn the memory verse: But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  2 Peter 3:18a. Watch the sign language video for this verse by clicking here

Recap: This cross reminds us that Jesus went through a lot of pain and loneliness before he died. But he did it because he wanted to save everyone. Jesus rose again and is alive, and we now have forgiveness and a way to know God more and more each day.
