Discipleship Groups (DGs) are small groups of men and women who meet separately to open God’s Word, pray together, encourage one another, and grow as followers of Jesus.
These groups are more than a Bible study. They are a place to build relationships, ask questions, talk honestly about what you are learning, and help one another put God’s Word into practice.
This fall, all of our Discipleship Groups are beginning together. Instead of moving immediately into our regular small groups, the men and women will each gather for three larger sessions before splitting into their Discipleship Groups
.
During these first three gatherings, we’ll spend time in God’s Word together, refresh our Bible Discovery Method, and focus on four habits that help shape our life as followers of Jesus:
God’s Word. Prayer. Worship. Service.
Women: Wednesdays at 7:00 pm
September 16, 23 & 30
Men: Saturdays at 8:00 am
September 19 & 26 and October 3
These three gatherings are the beginning of your DG year. All of our existing groups will participate together before regular small-group meetings begin.
This is a great time to join!
Start by attending the three larger gatherings. You’ll have an opportunity to meet others, learn how we study the Bible together, and get a feel for Discipleship Groups. From there, we’ll help connect you with a group for the rest of the fall.
After the opening gatherings, our Discipleship Groups will meet for eight weeks and study the book of 1 Peter.
Peter wrote to Christians learning how to live faithfully and hopefully in a world that did not share their faith.
Together, we’ll see what this letter teaches us about following Jesus, standing firm in the gospel, loving one another, and living with hope.
