Regathering

We're regathering for in-person worship at Calvary starting on March 7, 2021. We're excited to tell you that we are relaunching with two services - a 9:00 am service and an 11:00 am service.

Why two services? As believers we are caught in this tension of living in the world while still belonging to Christ. So while our hearts would have us longing to be all together "like before", there are certain guidelines we have to follow in order to make that happen. One of them is the 30% capacity limit for places of worship. When we regathered in the fall of 2020 we consistently maxed out our capacity each week which left us no room for outreach or growth, and it meant that many times our CB Kids weren't all able to be in the building together for Kids Min. Moving to two services allows more people the opportunity to worship in person, and ensures that we will have enough space to minister to more ages and stages.

The services will be identical in content for worship, Scripture, teaching and prayer. The only difference is that Kids Min for preschool to grade 5 will be offered at the 11:00 am service, and the 11:00 am service will be the one that is livestreamed on YouTube.

Registration for these services will begin on Monday, March 1, and we'll be giving you some additional updates and information as this date draws closer.

A lot of planning and prayer has gone into this decision and we are excited for the potential that it brings to serve more of the church body, minister to a greater number of people in the building, and, by God's grace, increase the opportunity to be disciples who make disciples.

We know that not everyone is ready to return to in-person gatherings because of health or other concerns. When we began livestreaming in March of 2020 we made a commitment to you that we would continue to minister and serve the church online. It's true - we will not always offer online components to all of our ministries like we’re doing now, and there will come a time when some social times, training opportunities and discipleship events will return to in-person only. That's the reality of coming out of the pandemic times. However our worship service will continue online as long as God wills, giving everyone the opportunity to connect to God and the church, and to become disciples who make disciples who love God love people and serve their world.
