Digital Bulletin

Calvary Burlington is a place where people of all ages and backgrounds meet for worship, teaching, and to grow in our faith. Our hope is that you would find a place where people can see and experience the love of Jesus. That Calvary would be a church where people can be engaged in community, be evangelized through solid biblical teaching, respond to the Gospel and be established in the faith, and then be equipped to help others take a step to the right toward spiritual maturity. It's our prayer that in everything we do, we are living out our calling to be disciples who make disciples.

If you are looking to explore who Calvary is and what we believe, you may also want to check out our Events page, What We Believe, and our Groups section. If you have any questions , don't hesitate to reach out via text (289-803-3530) or email (hello@calvaryburlington.ca)

WANT TO KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING AT CALVARY BURLINGTON?

News for Sunday, May 19

Join us for an engaging and encouraging worship service. We're continuing with the series titled, "The Journey of Jacob: Faith, Flaws, and Transformation." This seven-week series explores the highs and lows of Jacob in Genesis. Through Jacob’s birth, family conflict, and relationship with God, we see God’s redemptive plan on the move. God transforms Jacob from a deceptive young man into Israel: the one who wrestles with God. Each sermon in this series focuses on Jacob's life, highlighting his journey of faith, his flaws, and the transformative power of God's grace and redemption.

Discipleship School - May 26

At Calvary we want to see you established and equipped by God’s Word. that's why we're introducing  Discipleship School, or D School for short. Discipleship is about taking a step to the right in your own Christian walk, and helping others  to do the same. D School will establish you in your own faith, and help equip you to articulate it with others.

🗓️ When: May 26
🕘 Time: 9:00 AM - 9:45 AM
📍 Where: Church basement
📖 Chapter: What is Creation (Chapter 4)

No prerequisites, no age restrictions - D School is designed for adults seeking to enrich their faith and equip themselves to share it with others. Childcare isn't provided, so it's an opportunity for the grown-ups to come together!

At D School, we're passionate about diving into the big topics of our Christian faith. Each month, we'll focus on one essential aspect as we journey through the book “Christian Beliefs: 20 Basics Every Christian Should Know”. Before each session you’ll read a chapter of the book. Then on Sunday morning you’ll be led by one of our Elders through a 45-minute class to discuss the content.

CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE BOOK ON AMAZON

You'll need a copy of the book You can either purchase a hard copy ($23.99) or a Kindle version ($9.99). If you need assistance ordering the book, or you’d like to purchase one from the church, send a note to Candi Thorpe. You’ll likely want to get the book soon so that you have time to read it. We will be covering Chapter Three on Sunday, April 28.

Camp Sunday - May 26

Sunday, May 26 the Forest Cliff Camp staff will be here for the service to talk about the value of camp ministry.  After the service, the party begins! We'll spill out onto the lawn for a BBQ with potluck, games and activities and more! There will be fun for all ages including the climbing wall, Gaga Ball, obstacle courses, Sunday School games and much, much more!

We’re providing the hotdogs and drinks. Bring a lawn chair and some food to share - main, side dish or dessert. We’re suggesting you bring something that feeds 4+ people above and beyond the number of your household because we’ll have lots of guests and camp staff.

If you’re looking for inspiration, these items are always very popular at our potlucks:
  • Cookies or brownies;
  • Cobbler of any kind;
  • Sandwiches of any kind on dinner rolls (these are VERY popular and we always run out!) — you can even put them in sandwich bags ahead of time to make it easier to grab-and-go;

  • Bags of chips (individual bags are great!);
  • Veggie and fruit trays;
  • Cold fried chicken, BBQ chicken, or chicken wings (always appreciated);
