Giving

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

- Matthew 6:21

Why we give.

Everything we own and everything we have comes from God, so our financial giving (or "offering") is simply how we offer God a small portion of all the abundance He has already given to us.

The Old Testament instructed believers to give a tithe, or a tenth (10%), of their earnings because this represented the first part of what they had received. The New Testament doesn't suggest any specific percentage for giving, but simply reminds believers to give in keeping with how much you have earned (1 Corinthians 16:2). Giving is not meant to be legalistic, but a joyful expression of worship and thanks to God!

Your financial giving supports the work of Calvary Burlington on Sundays and throughout the week. Calvary is involved in our community through partnerships with local organizations and outreach projects, and supports missions partners here and abroad.
